Track and Field
Varsity and Junior Varsity athletes participated in the Sky-Em Track and Field Event yesterday at Marshfield High School. In the 100 meter race Viking runners dominated with juniors Wesley Nicholls and Charles Nelson taking the top two spots. Nicholls set a personal record time of 11.52. The pair also took the top two spots respectively in the 200 meters. Senior Brayden Linton and sophomore Camden Linton took 3rd and 4th in the 800 meters. They also took first and second respectively in the 1500. Senior Talan Ross took 3rd in the 3000. Junior Korbyn Marler took second in the 110 meter hurdles with a PR of 19.34 and sophomore Kale Jensen took first in the 300 meter hurdles. The Siuslaw 4×100 relay team took first as did the 4×400 team. Maximus Reynolds took a break from baseball to throw a personal record 41’.25” for a second place finish in the shot put. Senior Hunter Pimlott took second in the discus with 109’5” Reynolds took 4th. Freshman Caleb Gray tossed the javelin for a third place finish at 133’4” Justin Allen finished second in the high jump with a pr 5’8” and Allen, Jensen and Ross took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in the Pole Vault. Four Siuslaw Athletes took the top spots in the long Jump in first it was Will Johnson followed by Kale Jensen, Chaz Edblom and Ray Brito-Xilot. Johnson and Jensen took the top two spots in the triple-jump. For the girls it was Maya Wells in 4th in the 400 meter and 2nd in the 800 meter. Allison Hughes, Macy McNeill and Addison McNeill the next three spots. The 1500 meter was dominated by Siuslaw taking the top 6 places with
Allison Hughes in first followed by the two McNeill’s, Adylin Holbrook, Abigail Jones and Corduroy Hollbrook. Adylin Holbrook was the lone participant in the 3000 meters but set a pr time of 12:19.76. Siuslaw had two 4×400 relay teams and took first and third. Danin Lacouture took the shot put with a 32’6.5” toss. Jane Lacouture and Mia Snider took 3rd and 4th. Danin and Jane Lacouture took 3rd and 4th in the discus and Mia Snider and Jane Lacouture took 3rd and 5th in the Javelin.
College Baseball
Gonzaga put up seven runs in the seventh inning against the Oregon ducks but it was not enough to overcome the Ducks 18 hits and 14 runs last night at PK Park.
The Beavers got their 30th win of the season with a 12-5 win over Nevada. The Beavers broke out in the second with 3 runs on two homers. Game two is in Reno tonight at 6pm.
