Ems Drop Series
The Eugene Emeralds fell further behind the league leading Canadians over their 6 game series. The Ems managed a win on Friday night to even the series at 2 games a piece, but fell in a close battle on Saturday night losing 3-2. Last night at PK Park the Ems fell behind 6 runs by the 4th inning before scoring a lone run in the bottom of the 5th. Vancouver added one more in the top of the 8th for a 7-1 lead. In the bottom of the 9th inning Canadian’s pitcher Conor Larkin had to leave the game with a back injury. The pitching change allowed for a spark in the Ems lineup, scoring 3 runs, but the game ended with two called strike outs. The Ems will have most of the week off due to the MLB all-star break and will be back on the mound Friday against the Tri-City Dust Devils on the road.
