Authorities say there was no apparent foul play in the drowning death of a Pennsylvania man, who’s body was found floating in Woahink Lake south of Florence yesterday. According to Sergeant Spence Slater with the Lane County Sheriff’s office, an autopsy revealed the cause of death for 60-year old Bruce Nevin Rhodes was consistent with fresh water drowning and there was no evidence of any injuries. Slater said the coroner did not determine the precise cause of death, but said it appeared that Rhodes’ body had possibly been in the water “a couple of days”. Rhodes’ brother told police they weren’t close and family members thought he was in Arizona. The Sergeant did not rule out suicide, but said there was no indication from family members that he intentionally took his own life.
