The Eugene Emeralds capitalized on seven Spokane errors… as well as a pair of home runs by second baseman Casey McElroy… to down the Indians 9-4 last night at PK Park. McElroy joined the Ems two weeks ago after being drafted in the 11th round out of Auburn.
Last night’s win, coupled with Everett’s 6-nothing loss to Yakima moved Eugene to just one game behind the Aqua Sox in the final week of the regular season. The Ems clinched a playoff spot by winning the first half of the season… and can avoid the playoffs entirely by winning the second half.
Game three of the five game Spokane-Eugene series at PK Park is tonight… the series wraps up Sunday.
