The Port of Siuslaw Commission has been doing an increasing amount of business in special midday meetings recently. They have another one today at noon in which they’ll hear an update from commissioner Joshua Greene on the status of the Ice Machine. The commercial ice-maker was completed following a seven-year effort this past spring. However it broke down after just a few days and estimates are in the thousands of dollars to get it running again.
The Commission will also take the time to allow the interim Port Manager, Suzy Lacer, to provide updates and receive guidance. A private Executive Session will also be held to discuss the search for a new manager and a real estate transaction. The Commission meets at noon at the district office in Old Town.
