PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police are investigating shootings that
killed one man and wounded another last night in Portland. Police
were called to a home in northeast Portland before 9 p.m. and found
a man who was fatally shot. About an hour later a man walked into a
hospital with a gunshot wound. Police believe the shooting took
place in northeast Portland but people at the scene are not
cooperating. The Gang Enforcement Team is investigating. Police
haven’t said whether the two shootings are related.

SEATTLE (AP) – Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney
visits the Pacific Northwest this week. He’ll be in Seattle
Thursday for a fundraising luncheon at a downtown hotel. From
Seattle, Romney will head to Portland for a fundraiser Friday.

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) – Police in Oregon say an autopsy has
confirmed that a body found in an abandoned Jeep is the father of a
man suspected of killing him with the help of the suspect’s
girlfriend. Authorities say 56-year-old David Jones Pedersen died
of a gunshot wound to the head. His son David Joseph Pedersen said
in a jailhouse interview he killed his father and was responsible
for the three other killings in Washington, Oregon and California.
Pedersen’s girlfriend Holly Grigsby told investigators she killed
his stepmother using two knives.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The names of 110,000 retired public employees
in Oregon and how much they receive in pensions will be made public
next month as part of a court settlement between the state
retirement system and two newspapers. The Oregonian and The
Statesman Journal demanded the records from the Oregon Public
Employees Retirement System last year to shine a light on state
spending.
