ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – A Douglas County couple who killed a
neighbor’s dog with antifreeze have been sentenced to six months in
jail. Bernard and Mitzi Daugherty were found guilty last week of
animal abuse and criminal mischief. Bernard Daugherty testified he
intended to kill dogs defecating in his yard. The couple also must
pay $600 in veterinary bills to the dog’s owner.
COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) – The Coos County district attorney’s
17-year-old son pleaded guilty to felony sex abuse and was
sentenced by a Douglas County judge to three years on probation.
Jacob Frasier of Coquille was arrested in December following
allegations of sex with a 13-year-old girl. He said the sex was
consensual and she told him she was 15.
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Police say three boys – a 14-year-old and
two 10-year-olds – sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl at the
Medford YMCA. The attack Monday went on for 40 minutes until it was
broken up by the girl’s mother when she went inside looking for
her.
DALLAS, Ore. (AP) – A Polk County man has been sentenced to
nearly 67 years in prison for possession and distribution of child
pornography. Prosecutors tell the Statesman Journal that David
Klinepier was sentenced yesterday. He pleaded guilty last November
to 20 counts of first-degree encouragement of child abuse. Newberg
Police examined Klinepier’s computer and found more than one
million images and videos of child sexual abuse.
