Arizona rallied with a big run in their Pac Twelve Men’s Basketball tournament Friday to take down Oregon State 72-61, sending the Wildcats into the championship game of the Pac-12 Conference tournament. Roberto Nelson scored 19 points for the ninth-seeded Beavers. The upstart Colorado Buffaloes captured the Pac-12 tournament on their first try by beating Arizona 55-53. The Buffaloes shot just 38 percent, making just 19 of 50 shots, but that was good enough to take home the Pac-12 hardware.
The Oregon State men’s basketball team will play in postseason competition for the third time in four years when the Beavers host Western Illinois Wednesday at Gill Coliseum in the opening round of the College Basketball Invitational.
The University of Oregon men’s basketball team has been selected to participate in the 2012 National Invitation Tournament it was announced Sunday night. The Ducks earned a No. 3 seed and will host a first-round game against No. 6 LSU on Tuesday, March 13 at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene.
