Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…
The Marshfield Pirates dominated at the Central Coast Track and Field Invitational Friday afternoon at Siuslaw High School, winning both the boys and girls team titles. Siuslaw was in second place in both.
Individual results for the boys… Xuefie Li (SHOO-fey LEE) won the 200 meters, Mitchell Butler the 3,000, while Neal Larson, Mack Marbas and Jacob Egan finished second respectively in the 800, 1500, and 300 meter hurdles.
Brionna DeSantis won the girls’ javelin with a throw of 103’ 4” and the girls four-by-400 relay team of Stevie Miller, Alex Dodson, Katelyn Wells and Jessica Alletson finished first with a time of 4:20.25.
48th Centennial Invitational – Top Times for Viking Runners
Saturday a small group of Siuslaw Athletes competed at Portland’s Centennial High School. The results… three school records and three of the fastest times in the 4A ranks so far this year… Hayden Schaffner was 2nd overall in the 800 with a time of 1:55.28; Matthew Campbell, also 2nd in the 3,000 in 8:27.22 and Katy Potter was 11th in the girls’ 3,000 but still managed the fastest time in Siuslaw history at 10:25.45. Potter was on pace to finish even higher, but was spiked with two laps remaining and struggled to finish.
Prep Softball
Turning to the Diamond… the Siuslaw Vikings were at home for Far West Softball and swept the South Umpqua Lancers in two games Friday afternoon, 10-3 and 9-3. Douglas remains undefeated in Far West League play, they swept Brookings-Harbor in two games. Sutherlin kept pace with the Lady Vikings in second place by shutting out the North Bend Bulldogs in two. Siuslaw will travel to Winston for a midweek game against Douglas tomorrow.

Prep Baseball
The two teams on top of the Far West Baseball standings split a pair of games Friday afternoon in Myrtle Creek. The South Umpqua Lancers came out on top over the Vikings in game one with an 11- 1 victory. The Vikings turned around in the nightcap with a 7-4 win over the Lancers. In other results, North Bend swept Sutherlin in two games, Douglas and Brookings-Harbor Split. Siuslaw will travel to Winston for a midweek game against Douglas tomorrow.

Pac-12 Baseball
On the college diamond the Oregon Ducks got out the brooms over the weekend, sweeping the Cal Bears 4-1, 3-2 and 7-1 to put Oregon a half game ahead of Arizona in the Pac-12 race.
Oregon State opened a weekend series with a win over USC Friday, 5-3. But, the Trojans took the other two games, 3-2 and 6-2. The Beavers drop to 9-and-9, 3 ½ games out of first place in sixth.
