Five Eugene pitchers combined for a one-hit, three run shutout win over the Yakima Bears last night at PK Park. Emeralds starter Mike Watt had to leave the game after only one inning because of arm stiffness, he gave up the only hit of the game. The four relievers that followed went eight hitless innings and kept the Bears off the bases. The two teams will meet again this evening in Eugene.
On the American Legion Diamond the Canyon Crushers of North Salem will come calling on the Three Rivers Sandblasters this afternoon for a four o’clock game. That’s set to air on Coast Radio Sports with airtime at 3:45.
