SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The ex-coach of the North Salem High School boys’ basketball team has pleaded guilty to intoxicated driving, hit-and-run and assault. Willie Freeman was sentenced Monday to 30 days in jail, three years’ probation and 80 hours of community service. The Statesman Journal reports other charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 40-year-old man is accused of washing his genitals in a drinking fountain at a Portland park. Witnesses told police the man tried to talk with nearby kids Monday then took off clothes and began washing in the fountain at Couch Park. The Oregonian reports the man was jailed on charges of indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and misusing a drinking fountain.
NEW YORK (AP) – A person familiar with a criminal securities fraud case against the head of an Oregon investment research firm says he’s expected to plead guilty today in New York. Authorities say John Kinnucan used inducements as the president of Broadband Research to pump information out of public company insiders. Kinnucan is accused of relaying the inside information to his clients.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The head of a Port of Portland terminal operator has testified before a judge about the pressures he faced over two disputed jobs that have led to a work slowdown. Elvis Ganda of ICTSI Oregon Inc. said yesterday that weeks ago he told a longshore union official that he was contractually obligated to give the jobs to the electricians union and said he felt like he had a gun to his head. Ganda said the longshore union official replied, “I’m holding the other gun to your head.”
