SEATTLE (AP) – Felix Hernandez wasn’t perfect. He was still dominant. Hernandez allowed one run in 7 2-3 innings in the first start following his perfect game, Jesus Montero hit a three-run homer in Seattle’s four-run seventh inning, and the Mariners won their seventh straight beating the Cleveland Indians 5-1 last night. The win came in front of a crowd of more than 39,000 fans.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) – Uganda is heading home with a win in the Little League World Series. The first team from Africa to play in the event beat Gresham, Ore., 3-2 in a consolation game. The game remained scoreless until Oregon broke the tie in the top of the fourth inning with a triple, but Uganda tied the game again on singles and took the lead back in the fifth.

SEATTLE (AP) – Seimone Augustus scored 22 points, Maya Moore had 20 and Rebekkah Brunson had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Minnesota Lynx past the Seattle Storm 86-73 for their fifth win in a row. Camille Little scored 20 points to lead Seattle, which has lost two in a row at home for the first time since July 2009. Sue Bird added 17 points and Tanisha Wright 11.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Rookie Russell Wilson will get the start at quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks when they travel to Kansas City for their third preseason game. Seattle coach Pete Carroll made the announcement yesterday after practice. He didn’t indicate how much Wilson will play, but he will get time with the No. 1 offense after playing the entire second half in each of Seattle’s first two preseason games. Matt Flynn, who started those preseason games, will back up Wilson against Kansas City.
