EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A North Eugene High School student is now at home under house arrest six weeks after he was arrested for allegedly hacking into the Eugene School District’s computer system. A Lane County judge released the teen after his attorney entered not-guilty pleas on two counts of computer crime, one of them a felony, in juvenile court. The Register-Guard reports the teen is accused of posting hundreds of students’ confidential information on the district computer account of an unwitting middle school student.

ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police have seized 55 pounds of heroin in a traffic stop on Interstate 5 north of Ashland. Troopers arrested a 65-year-old Hillsboro man on Thursday and say there were 15 concealed packages in the vehicle he was driving. Authorities say the drugs are worth an estimated $1.1 million on the street.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Transportation Security Administration says a man was arrested for trying to pass through security at Portland International Airport carrying a knife that was concealed inside a comb. KATU reports the TSA discovered the weapon on Aug. 15. Agents say it looked like a common plastic comb, but it could be pulled apart to reveal a dagger. A TSA spokesman says the man was cited for carrying a concealed weapon. He was trying to catch a flight to Seattle when agents spotted something on a body scanner and patted him down.
