Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

TIGARD, Ore. (AP) – A Washington County medical marijuana dispensary raided by authorities has hosted politicians for tours to advocate for medical marijuana plants. The Oregonian reports sheriff’s deputies say the dispensary sold pot. Oregon’s medical marijuana law does not allow for the sale of marijuana. Dispensary co-director Don Morse emphatically denies the establishment sold marijuana.

SHERWOOD, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County sheriff’s office says a 15-year-old driver lost control of an SUV, crossed the center line and struck a motorcycle in Sherwood. The rider, 66-year-old Dale Smith of King City, was killed in the crash last night. Deputies say the 15-year-old driver has a valid Oregon instruction permit. There was a licensed driver and another passenger in the SUV at the time. They were not injured.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Conservation groups are suing to stop a federal timber sale they say will destroy dwindling habitat for a tiny tree-top dwelling rodent called the red tree vole. The lawsuit filed in federal court in Eugene challenges the Rickard Creek timber sale by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The land is southwest of Corvallis. The bureau did not immediately return calls.

COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) – Friends of a Coos Bay man who died in a trailer fire say the flames and heat were too intense to rescue him. The World of Coos Bay reports that 60-year-old Mike Tavernier had lived in the trailer about six months. City officials say the fire was caused by a burning candle or cigarette, and the trailer had no smoke detector.
