TIGARD, Ore. (AP) – A man has been killed in an industrial accident in Tigard. Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue says he got his arm caught in a machine at a business last night. The Oregonian reports firefighters and medics freed the man but he died at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – The Deschutes County sheriff’s office says two boys were taken into custody after an escape attempt at the J Bar J Boys Ranch, a juvenile offenders’ facility at Bend. The Bulletin reports one boy acted as a hostage Tuesday while the other pretended to threaten him with a sharpened weapon. No one was hurt.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A former Bureau of Indian Affairs engineer in Portland has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for having an image on his government computer of a 6-year-old girl being sexually abused. The U.S. attorney imposed the sentence yesterday on Jasper Blair on a guilty plea in May. He faces a decade of post-prison supervision.

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – A Roseburg man who has been warned repeatedly about the stench of cat urine coming from his motor home is now picking up tickets for odor violations. The News-Review reports the 55-year-old man was cited Sept. 15 while parked on a street and again on Wednesday in a parking lot. Police said the powerful odor of cat urine could be smelled outside the motor home.
