A missing man last seen picking wild mushrooms south of Florence is the subject of a search this morning. Bill Sathe was last seen midday yesterday when he and his son Troy headed into the underbrush near County Line Road, six miles south of Florence. The elder Sathe didn’t meet up with his son at the time they had set later in the afternoon. A crew from Douglas County Search and Rescue, aided by volunteers with Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue are scouring the area today.
Officials are asking for the public’s help today…. Troy Sathe said he encountered another man who reported seeing his father about four o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Searchers would like to get more specific information about the sighting such as exact time and location. They say it will help them focus in on a specific area more closely.
