On the prep basketball court… Saturday afternoon the Siuslaw boys nearly pulled off an upset of 5A Wilsonville. The Vikings were up by two with less than 20 seconds remaining, but the Wildcats were able to tie it up, forcing overtime where they came out on top 58 – 54. Jake Thompson led scoring with 20 points for the Vikings. The Vikings are back on the court tonight against Elmira… the boys at 7:30 in Elmira. The pregame show on KCST is at 7:15. The Viking girls are at home.
The Reedsport Braves dominated the Mapleton Sailors Friday night, 57 – 24 in non-league action.
For the girls, it was closer, but the Braves still came out on top 41 – 30.
On the college court… The Oregon State Beavers demolished Grambling State Saturday afternoon 85-54. Meanwhile, in Eugene, the Oregon Ducks did some demolition of their own, taming the Idaho State Bengals on the court 87-35
