PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The owners of four Pacific Northwest grain terminals says they will implement the terms of their last contract offer for longshore workers today. The last contract expired Sept. 30 and negotiations have stalled. The terminal owners say they won’t lockout the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. An ILWU spokeswoman says workers intend to continue working for now.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An autopsy has found that the suspicious death of a 33-year-old woman at her southwest Portland apartment was a homicide. Detectives are checking with friends and tracing the activities of Jaime Lyn Larson in previous days in hope of finding her killer. Her body was found Christmas night.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – Authorities have suspended the search for a missing Klamath Falls man due to heavy snow. Searchers said a car belonging to 39-year-old Robert Lear was found near the community Keno in southern Klamath County. Officials say they have not ruled out the possibility he had gotten a ride or hiked out of the area and hadn’t notified anyone of his whereabouts.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Medford man thinks the West Coast should have a sister to the Statue of Liberty and he’s hoping to raise $10 million for the project. The Oregonian reports that Jay Jarvie has built a 56-inch model of the statue he’d like to see on a 30-acre green somewhere in Oregon. The Oregon statue called “Providence Lifts All” wouldn’t be a replica, though. For example, it would hold a sword, not a torch.
