PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – LaMarcus Aldridge had 28 points and 12 rebounds, and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Sacramento Kings 109-91 last night to avenge a loss on Sunday. Nicolas Batum (bah-TOOM’) scored 18 points and J.J. Hickson added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Blazers, who built a double-digit lead in the second quarter and then ran away from the Kings, leading by as many as 26 points. Rookie point guard Damian Lillard had 17 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Richard Sherman hung around the Seahawks locker room getting ready for practice like it was any other yesterday during the regular season. But it wasn’t typical. Not with the looming decision about his appeal of a four-game suspension. No one seems to know a timetable for a decision. Sherman was expected to practice yesterday, but the Seahawks aren’t going blindly into the regular-season finale against St. Louis with the firm belief they will have their star cornerback available.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners have officially announced their $2.75 million, one-year deal with outfielder Raul Ibanez, returning the veteran to where he began his major league career in 1996. Seattle made the move official Wednesday after clearing a spot on its 40-man roster by designating for assignment right-handed pitcher D.J. Mitchell, who was acquired from the New York Yankees in a trade last July. The deal allows Ibanez to earn an additional $1.25 million in performance bonuses.
