PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Renado Parker scored 20 points, leading four Portland State players in double figures, and the Vikings beat Eastern Washington 89-80. Michael Harthun scored 18 and Aaron Moore had 17 points and nine rebounds for Portland State, which kept its hopes alive to qualify for the conference’s postseason tournament. The Eagles fell one game behind the four-way tie for fifth in the Big Sky with four conference games to play. The top seven teams get into the conference tourney.
(AP) – Indiana has held on to the No. 1 spot in The Associated Press’ Top 25 for the third straight week. The Hoosiers received 43 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel yesterday. Miami had 20 No. 1 votes and moved up one spot to second. Gonzaga, with the other two first-place votes, climbed two spots to third. Michigan State rose from eighth to No. 4 and was followed by Florida, Duke, Michigan, Syracuse, Kansas and Louisville. Oregon remains at No. 23; VCU was the only newcomer to the poll this week.
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Jazmine Davis scored 20 points and Aminah Williams made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:37 remaining to help Washington defeat Oregon State 49-44 last night. The Huskies scored the final six points of the game. After Williams’ 3, Davis made a pair of free throws with 14 seconds to play and Kristi Kingma added another free throw with 2 seconds left. Jamie Weisner led the Beavers with 22 points. Her 3-pointer put Oregon State in front 44-43 with just under 2 minutes to play.
