Athlete of the Week
Viking baseball standout Kenneth Thrall is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The freshman catcher was three-for-five at the plate through two games last week. Thrall was two-for-three in Friday’s win over Marshfield, but reached base all three times he came to the plate.
Honorable mention goes to Mapleton senior Taysie Savage who won the triple-jump at last week’s Mapleton 300 track meet with a distance of 26-feet, two-inches… the sixth longest in the 1A so far this year.
Prep Schedule
On the schedule today… Viking softball is in Newport for one game against the Cubs… Baseball is at home. That game gets under way at four… airtime is at 3:45.
