WARRENTON, Ore. (AP) – Police say a man shot and killed while intruding in an apartment in Warrenton was the estranged husband of the woman who lived there. Thirty-nine-year-old Bruce Ross Rogers of Astoria was shot Tuesday while breaking into a bedroom where four people had gathered to protect themselves from him. Rogers was the only person injured during the incident.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The discovery of three abducted women in Ohio gives hope to the father of Kyron Horman who disappeared nearly three years ago in Portland when he was 7 years old. Kaine Horman tells KOIN the Cleveland rescue reaffirms his belief that his son is out there and will come home. KATU reports state police say there are 41 missing children in Oregon.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon House has advanced a bill that would allow some teenagers convicted of having sex with underage partners to erase the crime from their records. The bill passed in a narrow 31 to 27 vote yesterday. It now goes to the Senate. The bill would only apply to people convicted in their teen years of sex crimes that did not involve coercion or force.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon’s chief elections official wants nearly everyone with a driver’s license to be automatically registered to vote. The plan was proposed by Democratic Secretary of State Kate Brown. A House committee heard public testimony yesterday but took no action on the bill. Oregon had nearly 3 million adult licensed drivers at the end of 2011.
