Doug Molzahn, out of Marshfield High School, threw a complete game for the Three River Sandblasters, scattering seven hits and striking out five on the way to a come-back 5-4 win over the Mid Valley Rockets Saturday afternoon in Florence. Mikey Gill was two-for-four with a double and a triple; Josh Iabichello was also two-for-four with a triple and three RBI; and Jake Thompson… also went two-for-four with an RBI triple… and a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the ninth.
The Sandblasters are back on the diamond in Corvallis this afternoon for a single game at seven pm…. Airtime on 106.9 FM is set for 6:45.
Northwest League MILB
In the Northwest League… The Boise Hawks swept a weekend three-game series against the Eugene Emeralds, winning 5-4 Friday; 8-6 Saturday and then capping it with a 6-5 squeaker yesterday afternoon. The Emeralds, five-and-12 overall, bring home a seven game losing streak this evening where they’ll face the Hillsboro Hops.
