Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

Salem Kiezer handed Eugene a pair of losses last night at PK Park, extending the Emeralds losing streak to seven.  First up, a game that was suspended in the Fourth Inning Sunday was resumed last night with the Volcanoes coming out on top 5-1.  In the nightcap, the Volcanoes came out on top again, this time 5-3.

The Emeralds are all done at home, they’ll finish the season on the road with a three game series at Hillsboro beginning tomorrow… then a three game series in Keizer beginning Saturday.

Mannion To Lead Beavers

The question of who will lead the Oregon State Beavers at quarterback has been settled.  Coach Mike Riley

announced yesterday he’s going with Sean Mannion.  He started Oregon State’s first four games last season, but injured his left knee and required arthroscopic surgery.  Cody Vaz stepped in and won the next two games, giving the Beavers their best start since they went 6-0 in 1907.

The Beavers open up Saturday in Corvallis at three o’clock against Eastern Washington.
