Sports Club Athlete of the Week
Mapleton football standout Tucker Ford is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The junior quarterback completed 18 of 23 passes for 439 yards and five touchdowns, plus he intercepted a pass with 25 seconds remaining to seal a 60-58 homecoming victory over McKenzie last week for the Sailors.
Honorable Mention… Viking Volleyball standout Kylie Brandt. She was perfect at the service line in a three game victory over Douglas, going 13-for-13.
On the schedule…
The Siuslaw Vikings wrap up the regular season on the volleyball court and can clinch a share of the Far West title with a win at home this evening against the North Bend Bulldogs. It’s senior night and the final regular home match of the year. If the Vikings win, they’ll likely face either Sutherlin or Marshfield next week in a league playoff match.
Also on the court tonight… Reedsport will face Gold Beach on the road.
