RENTON, Wash. (AP) – There is still no definitive date for when wide receiver Percy Harvin will make his Seattle Seahawks debut. And just as much of an unknown is what Harvin’s role will be when he’s finally given the OK to get back in a game for the first time in a calendar year. The analysis of how Harvin would fit with the Seahawks first started when he was acquired in a trade with Minnesota in March, then was put on hold when Harvin underwent hip surgery to repair an injured labrum in early August.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla has been arrested on drug-related charges in Lane County. Lyerla, who left the No. 2 Ducks earlier this month and plans to enter the NFL draft in April, was held in the Lane County Jail following his arrest on Wednesday. The sheriff’s office says in a statement that Lyerla was observed by a drug investigation unit snorting a white powdery substance while sitting in a parked car. He was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of cocaine and interfering with a police officer.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Starting Saturday against UCLA and continuing in the next game at Stanford, Oregon faces the most challenging span of its schedule. The outcome of the 12-day stretch is crucial for the Ducks to have a shot at the national championship. Right now the Ducks sit at No. 2 in the AP Top 25 behind Alabama. While victories over both the No. 12 Bruins and No. 8 Cardinal are considered essential for Oregon, the Ducks are focused solely on UCLA tomorrow afternoon at Autzen Stadium.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) – Gonzaga has been chosen to win the West Coast Conference by the league’s coaches. The Zags received eight of 10 first-place votes ahead of the WCC’s tipoff event yesterday, with charter conference member Pacific back in the league this season. Gonzaga is coming off a 32-3 season and its 15th straight trip to the NCAA tournament, eliminated by Wichita State to miss the round of 16. The Bulldogs lost 7-foot forward Kelly Olynyk to the NBA but have a strong core returning.
