RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Seattle Seahawks center Max Unger and defensive end Red Bryant are both going through concussion protocols after being injured on Sunday against Tampa Bay. Coach Pete Carroll said yesterday that the Seahawks are unsure if either will be ready for Sunday’s game at Atlanta. Carroll said Bryant’s concussion wasn’t fully realized until yesterday.

The Seattle Seahawks may be leading the NFC thanks to the best start in team history, but the past two weeks have exposed a number of their flaws. Still, the Seahawks are finding ways to win despite the problems. The latest came Sunday when they rallied from 21-0 down to beat Tampa Bay 27-24 in overtime.
SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners have made a qualifying offer to designated hitter Kendrys Morales that would pay him $14.1 million for next season. The Mariners announced they had made the offer yesterday and Morales has until Nov. 11 to accept. If he signs elsewhere, Seattle would get an extra pick at the end of the first round of June’s amateur draft.
SEATTLE (AP) – Washington’s second bye week of the season was a chance for Steve Sarkisian’s team to regroup after a rough October and get ready for a hectic final four games that will determine whether 2013 was a success. Sarkisian said yesterday the break was important in getting some players healthy. The Huskies begin their final stretch on Saturday hosting Colorado. A win over the Buffaloes will make the Huskies bowl eligible for the fourth straight season
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – USA Track and Field is backing a bid by Portland, Ore., to host the 2016 world indoor track and field championships. A formal presentation will be made to the IAAF on Nov. 15 in Monaco. Indianapolis hosted the 1987 indoor world championships and no American city has hosted the event since. Eugene, Ore., will host next year’s 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships and the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.
