On the girls basketball court… the Siuslaw Vikings slipped out to an early lead, but the slow-starting Junction City Tigers took control in the second quarter and never looked back, handing the lady Vikings a 38-19 loss last night in Florence.
In Junction City, the Viking boys lost to the Tigers 53 – 41.
Both Viking squads will be on the court tomorrow at Siuslaw High School for non-league action against the Phoenix Pirates. The girls tip off at 4:30… the boys around six. Airtime on Coast Radio Sports is at 4:15.
The inaugural Mapleton Flagship Basketball Tournament scheduled to tip off today has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
Siuslaw Wrestlers were slated to hit the mats tomorrow in Coos Bay for the Marshfield Invitational, but that’s been cancelled due to the weather.
