(AP) – Askia Booker scored a career-high 27 points, 11 in the last 4:40, and No. 20 Colorado rallied in the second half to hand No. 10 Oregon its first loss of the season yesterday, 100-91. Spencer Dinwiddie added 23 points and Xavier Johnson and Josh Scott had 15 points apiece for Colorado. Mike Moser had 24 points to lead Oregon, which was denied its first 14-0 start since 1937-38.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) – Jermaine Marshall scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half and Arizona State pulled away to beat Washington State 66-47 yesterday. Jahii Carson added 14 points and Shaquielle McKissic 12 for the Sun Devils. The Cougars shot 34 percent three days after their worst offensive showing in 76 years in a 60-25 loss to top-ranked Arizona last week.
SEATTLE (AP) – Katie Hempen came off the bench to score a dozen points to lead No. 24 Arizona State to a 78-60 win over Washington in a Pac-12 Conference contest yesterday afternoon, returning to its winning ways against the Huskies. Kelsey Moos and Deja Mann each scored 11 points for ASU while Joy Burke and Eliza Normen both added 10 points off the bench. The Sun Devils out-rebounded Washington 44-32.
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) – Chiney Ogwumike scored 17 of her 31 points in the first 8½ minutes, and fourth-ranked Stanford overwhelmed Oregon State 89-67 yesterday. Ogwumike’s scintillating start powered the Cardinal to a 29-4 lead that put the game away in a hurry. Sydney Wiese scored 15 points and Samantha Siegner had 11 points and eight rebounds for Oregon State, which has lost its last three games to ranked opponents.
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) – Reshanda Gray scored 33 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as No. 23 California overcame a late rally from Oregon for a 101-98 overtime victory yesterday. After Gray fouled out in overtime, Brittany Boyd broke a tie at 96 with a running bank shot on a drive to the hoop. Boyd then made 3 of 4 free throws in the final 20 seconds. Rowe led Oregon with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
