FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – A Washington County authorities say a top official at Pacific University has turned himself in to deputies after he was indicted by a county grand jury on sex abuse charges. The Oregonian reports that deputies say 48-year-old Michael David Mallery is jailed on seven counts of first-degree sex abuse. Stimler says Mallery is accused of sexually abusing two relatives under the age of 18 in 2010 and 2013. Mallery is the Forest Grove school’s vice president for finance and administration.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say a 14-year-old brought his parent’s handgun to Franklin High School to settle a dispute with a drug dealer. Police say he gave the gun to a 15-year-old yesterday at a restaurant off-campus. Other students reported the weapon, and officers found the loaded handgun in the student’s pocket at school. Both teens face charges and are in juvenile detention.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregonian is cutting the size of its newspaper from a broadsheet to an easier-to-hold compact format. Publisher N. Christian Anderson III says the new format will include color on every page and measure about 15 inches tall – down from about 23 inches tall. The width will remain 11 inches.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Kevin Durant scored 11 of his 46 points in the final 3:23 to help the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Portland Trail Blazers 105-97 last night. Oklahoma City now has a one-game lead over Portland in the Northwest Division. Portland had won the previous two meetings this season. LaMarcus Aldridge had 29 points and 16 rebounds and Wesley Matthews added 21 points for Portland.
