Sam Johnson hit a six-foot baseline jumper with four seconds left in overtime and the Siuslaw Vikings fought back for a 38-36 road win over the Douglas Trojans last night. Joseph Dotson led the Vikings with 15 points. In one other Far West game last night, Marshfield edged North Bend 56-46 in Coos Bay. One other boys game last night… the Mapleton Sailors held off the Crow Cougars 63-56 for a Mountain West League victory.
On the girls’ court… Siuslaw fought from behind almost the entire distance and ultimately fell to the Lady Trojans 56-43. Halee Richards led Siuslaw with 11 points and had two blocked shots. In the other Far West game last night, Marshfield beat North Bend 38-26. In the Mountain West, Crow demolished Mapleton 56-18.
The Sailors will be back on the court this evening against the Mohawk Indians… the girls game tips off at 5:30… the boys right after. Both games will air on Coast Radio Sports.
