Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…
The Ducks are in the dance…
After running the table in the preseason… then slumping early in the Pac-12… Oregon is on the rise again and will look to continue climbing in the NCAA Men’s
Basketball Tournament. Oregon will face BYU Thursday afternoon in Milwaukie, Wisconsin. The Ducks are the number seven seed… the Cougars tenth… in the West bracket.
The Oregon State men have extended their season, but on a less elevated stage… they’ll host Radford Wednesday in Corvallis in the opening round of the College Basketball Invitational.
From the court to the diamond:
Number four ranked Oregon State started off the Pac-12 baseball season with a sweep of Utah 6-1, 5-1 and 8-nothing. Jace Fry allowed just three hits in a complete-game shutout yesterday in Salt Lake City to become the first four-game winner for the Beavers… this one a complete game shutout over the Utes.
In Eugene, Oregon lost the opener, but won the series, taking two out of three from USC to open conference play. The Trojans won Friday 3-2, but number nine Oregon claimed Saturday and Sunday with identical 7-2 scores.
On the diamond today… Viking Baseball is scheduled to open in Pleasant hill at four this afternoon. Wayne Sharpe will have the call for you with the pregame show starting at 3:45.
