Civil War Series Could Swing Pac-12 Baseball Race
This weekend’s Civil War baseball match-up in Corvallis could make a big difference in the Pac-12 standings. Number five Oregon State, at 28-and-7 overall, is currently in second place. The Beavers are 11-and-4 in conference play, a game-and-a-half behind first place Washington at 14-and-4.
Number 19 ranked Oregon, meanwhile, is a game back of Oregon State with a ten-and-five conference record; they’re 31-and-ten overall.
The three games at Goss Stadium in Corvallis beginning tomorrow could provide more separation between the teams if one team or the other sweeps. If Oregon were to take two of three… that would leave them tied coming out of the weekend.
The Huskies will host Washington State.
Prep Track and Field
Teams from 11 schools will be in competition tomorrow at Hans Peterson Field in Florence for the Central Coast Track and Field Invitational. Field events get under way at four o’clock; running events at five. There is a $5 admission charge for adults; $3 for students with the proceeds on the day going towards new track uniforms next year.
