Ducks Down Pilots
Porter Clayton and Trent Paddon combined on the mound to give Oregon a 3-2 nonconference baseball win over the Pilots yesterday in Portland. Clayton got the start, and the win. Paddon his first career “save”. Oregon heads to Tempe, Arizona tomorrow where they’ll face the Sun Devils in a three-game Pac-12 series.
Top ranked Oregon State will host defending National Champion UCLA.
Rhody Run
Entries are being accepted for the 36th annual Rhody Run in Florence next week. Entry forms are available at Coastal Fitness and several other locations around the community.
NFL Draft
The first of seven rounds in the 2014 NFL Draft gets underway today in New York City. Three former Oregon State Beavers and seven former Ducks are in the mix. Leading the way will be wide receiver Brandin Cooks from Oregon State. Tight end Colt Lyerla, who Oregon early in the 2013 season, is the top ranked former Duck.
