SAN ANTONIO (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers have been eliminated from the NBA Western Conference semifinals in five games. The San Antonio Spurs closed out the series with a 104-82 victory over Portland last night. The Spurs had four blowout victories in the five-game series, sending them into their third straight conference finals.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County Sheriff’s office says an autopsy is being conducted today on human remains found in the Gales Creek area. Deputies say a Clean Water Services contractor found the remains yesterday while spraying weeds. The sheriff’s office says there weren’t immediate signs of violence.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A federal judge has ruled that a national group cannot defend Oregon’s ban on same-sex marriage after the state attorney general refused to do so. Judge Michael McShane denied the National Organization for Marriage’s motion to intervene. The decision paves the way for a ruling on the constitutionality of Oregon’s same-sex marriage ban, which could come at any time.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – TriMet has declared an impasse in contract talks with the union that represents more than 2,000 of its workers. The Portland-based transit agency says it took the action after 37 days of contract negotiations and two mediation sessions produced no progress on the key issues of wages and health care costs.
