RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks have signed defensive end Cassius Marsh, the first of their fourth-round picks in the NFL draft. Seattle announced Marsh’s signing yesterday. Financial terms of Marsh’s deal were not released but he will receive a four-year contract. Marsh was taken with the 108th pick overall in the draft out of UCLA. Seattle also signed tight end Rashaun Allen and guard Nate Isles, who both took part in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp last week on a tryout.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Former Oregon State guard Hallice Cooke says he plans to sign with Iowa State. Cooke averaged 8.2 points a game while shooting 46 percent from 3-point range as a freshman in 2013-14. He’ll sit out next season and have three years of eligibility left.
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Wayne Tinkle, who coached the past eight seasons at Montana, has been hired as Oregon State’s men’s basketball team’s new head coach. Tinkle took the Grizzlies to the NCAA tournament three times in his tenure with the team. Montana finished below .500 only once during that span. The 48-year-old replaces Craig Robinson after he was fired earlier this month following six seasons with the Beavers where he failed to make the NCAA tournament.
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – Byron Wesley, who led Southern California in scoring and rebounding last season, will play his senior season at Gonzaga. The Spokesman-Review reports that the 6-foot-5 wing is expected to play immediately as he should complete his degree at USC.
