Prep Volleyball
The Siuslaw Vikings started the 2014 volleyball campaign with a convincing three-game win over Elmira at home last night. Under the guidance of new head coach Angie Herring the Vikings won three straight sets, all at 25-13.
Elyssa Rose had ten kills and two blocks. Halee Richards had six kills and Ali Scheer had five perfect serve receive passes along with what Herring called “an excellent defensive effort”.
Next up for the Vikings will be the Reedsport Invitational Saturday morning.
The Sailors are back on the court this evening in Mapleton where they’ll host the Siletz Valley Warriors at six.
