Distance runner honored as prep athlete of the week
Siuslaw Cross Country standout Seth Campbell is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the week. The senior distance runner outpaced the entire field in the varsity division at the Northwest Classic at Lane Community College in Eugene over the weekend, winning it in a time of 16:31.
Honorable mention is given to Viking running back and kick returner Billy Jones who rushed for two touchdowns, plus returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown in Siuslaw’s 49-14 victory over Hidden Valley.

Siuslaw will open the Far West volleyball season in Coos Bay this evening against Marshfield. The Mapleton Sailors will be in Blue River against McKenzie.
