Vikings Edge Trojans for Volleyball Victory
Trista Lane scored the final four points to clinch game four 27-25 and the Siuslaw Vikings downed the Douglas Trojans to claim sole possession of 2nd place in the Far West League volleyball standings last night. Lane added 11 kills and had two service aces in the win. Elyssa Rose added 14 kills of her own and Courtney Taylor chipped in at the net with a dozen kills and one stuff block.
In other Far West contests last night, Marshfield remained perfect in league play with a three game victory over South Umpqua; North Bend downed Brookings-Harbor in three. Siuslaw will host Brookings tomorrow night.

Four Match Win Streak Ends in Lowell for Sailors
In the Mountain West League, Lowell remained undefeated as they downed visiting Mapleton in three. The loss snapped a four-match win streak for the Sailors, but still left them alone in fourth place… in line for a league playoff spot. They’ll host 2nd place McKenzie tomorrow night a win would clinch their position.
