Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…
The Siuslaw Girls Cross Country Team claimed their 12th straight District Title yesterday; The Viking Boys finished second and will make their 14th straight appearance at the State meet next week.
Celie Mans won the individual girls’ title with a time of 19:12.71 over a wet and messy first time course in Brookings. The girls placed all seven runners in the top 20… Sierra Potter was third; Kennedy Pendergrass – sixth; Courtney King – ninth; Mikaela Siegel – 12th; Elizabeth Wartnik and Lainey Goss were 14th and 17th. The Vikings edged North Bend for first place by a score of 31-35.
Marshfield edged the Viking Boys for the league title by a score of 39-44 but Siuslaw’s Seth Campbell won the day outright with a time of 16:33.12. Jack Pickell, Jonathan Griffes and Isaac Griffes were in a pack in ninth, tenth, and 11th; Drew Rannow was close behind in 13th.
Football!
Coming up on the gridiron tonight… the Siuslaw Vikings will wrap up the regular season and celebrate homecoming when they take on the Brookings-Harbor Bruins at seven. The pregame show on KCST is at 6:45.
The Mapleton Sailors will close out their season at home this evening against Triangle Lake.
Number Six Oregon will take on Cal tonight… that’s right… tonight… in the first-ever college football game at the brand new home of the San Francisco 49ers: Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game will air on KCFM with the pregame show starting at 5:30… kickoff at seven.
KCFM will be the place to hear the Oregon State Beavers tomorrow as they take on the Stanford Cardinal. The game kicks off at 12:30; the pregame is at 11:30.
Vikings Play In Volleyball
On the volleyball court… the Siuslaw Vikings will host the Tillamook Cheesemakers Monday evening in an OSAA “Play-In” match at Siuslaw High School. The match is set to begin at six.
