Athlete of the Week
Mapleton basketball standout Chris Free is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The senior forward scored a total of 21 points and pulled down 21 rebounds for the Sailors in victories last week over Alsea and Eddyville. He also recorded six steals and three blocks.
Honorable mention is given to his teammate, Jack Hardisty. He returned to the court last week and scored 27 points total in the same two games, pulling down 12 rebounds and making five steals.
On the schedule tonight…
The Mapleton Sailors are at home where they’ll host Mohawk at six. The Siuslaw Vikings are also at home. They’ll host the Brookings-Harbor Bruins. The girls tip off at six, the boys right after. Airtime on Coast Radio Sports will be at 5:45.
