Doc Stewarts fall to the ‘Blasters
The Three Rivers Sandblasters used nine hits and capitalized on two Doc Stewarts’ errors yesterday in Roseburg for a 7-6 non-league win. Kyle Springer allowed two hits in four innings of relief. He earned the win. Springer was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and two RBI.
The Sandblasters have two non-league games scheduled tomorrow at Swede Johnson Stadium against the Eugene Challengers.
Northwest League muddled
After winning five straight, the Eugene Emeralds have now lost three in a row. The Tri-City Dust Devils downed the Ems 12-3 Friday; 4-1 Saturday; and then 15-2 yesterday. The losses mean the Emeralds are now in a three-way tie for the lead in the Southern Division with Hillsboro and Salem-Keizer. Eugene wraps up a five game series tonight in Pasco, Washington.
