Walkoff RBI single in the 10th wins it for the Northwest League
The Northwest League All Stars defeated the Pioneer Baseball League All Stars 6-5 last night in Spokane. Tri-City’s Peter Van Gansen hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the tenth for the win in the first ever meeting between the two leagues.
Tonight is another ‘off-night’ in the Northwest League… the Eugene Emeralds and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes will be back in action tomorrow at PK Park.
Heisman on permanent display in Eugene
The Heisman Trophy won by former Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota went on permanent display yesterday in the lobby of the Hatfield-Dowlin complex next to Autzen Stadium. The famous trophy is perched on top of a unique diamond-shaped pedestal that tells the award winning quarterback’s story. The lobby is open to the public Monday through Friday from eight am to 5 pm.
