Volleyball hitter earns honorable mention
Siuslaw Football standout Scott Gordon is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the week. The Viking senior caught eight passes for 65 yards, including one for a touchdown, in Friday’s 29-6 season opening victory over the Newport Cubs.
Honorable mention is given to Elyssa Rose who led the Lady Vikings in kills on the volleyball court last week. Rose recorded 15 in a non-league victory over Elmira.
