Boys finish fourth at Far West Preview
The Siuslaw Viking Girls edged North Bend by one point… 52 – 53… to capture the Far West League Preview Cross Country meet yesterday afternoon in Lakeside.
Bandon’s Sailor Hutton won the individual title, followed by Siuslaw’s Celie Mans in second place. The Vikings had another top ten finisher, newcomer Morgan Bingham who was tenth.
North Bend’s Michael Brown won the individual title on the boys’ side of the meet; Bandon came away with the team championship. The Tigers were followed by North Bend, Brookings-Harbor, and then Siuslaw in fourth. Viking Freshman Murray Bingham was ninth, the highest finisher for Siuslaw. Two teammates were close behind… Isaac Griffes (GRIFF-iss) in 11th, Kyle King in 13th.
Prep Volleyball Schedule
On the prep volleyball court today… the Siuslaw Vikings are in Newport for a pair of non-league matches against the Cubs and the Junction City Tigers. The Mapleton Sailors are at Alsea for Mountain West League play against the Wolverines.
