BEND, Ore. (AP) – The power company PacifiCorp is asking Oregon to change green power rules so as to reduce contract lengths and lower the amount of renewable power it is required to accept. The Bulletin in Bend reports that the company has asked the Oregon Public Utility Commission to lower contract terms for qualified renewable power generators from 15 years to three. Critics of the request say it will stifle growth of renewable energy sources by making them difficult to finance.

OAKRIDGE, Ore. (AP) – The IRS has filed tax liens against the Oakridge Loyal Order of the Moose, saying the fraternal order owes more than $24,000 in back federal taxes, interest and penalties. The Register-Guard in Eugene reports that the debt stems from 2006 to 2014. The lodge administrator says he is not familiar with the liens and that the matter had been resolved earlier this year.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say a second forensic analyst at its crime labs had been investigated. Last week, state authorities said evidence in hundreds of criminal cases was being reviewed following accusations that a forensic analyst who worked at the agency’s lab in Bend tampered with drug evidence. State police notified district attorneys across the state about those findings and issued lists detailing the affected cases.

SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) – A Seaside man who stole from more than a 100 businesses and residents in Clatsop County has been sentenced to 7 ½ years in prison. The Daily Astorian reports Loren Tarabochia has a lengthy criminal history of theft and burglary dating back more than a decade.
