CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – A woman says she was sexually assaulted on the Oregon State University campus. State Police say the woman told troopers that she was walking between two buildings on campus early yesterday when a man approached her. She said the man assaulted her and fled. Classes begin today at OSU.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Multnomah County prosecutors have charged a man with subjecting a female to involuntary servitude by threatening her and causing serious injury. KOIN-TV News reports Lake Oswego police arrested Selva Delano Mudalar after a family member of the female went to police. Court documents say Mudalar subjected the female to “a long history” of physical abuse and prostitution.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police are investigating a shooting that killed a man and wounded a woman in the northeast part of the city. Officers said they responded to the area last night after receiving multiple reports of gunfire and found the two victims inside a vehicle. Police are also investigating a separate shooting in southeast Portland that wounded a man last night.
KELSO, Wash. (AP) – Negotiators for teachers and the Kelso School District remain at odds over a contract agreement, leading the district to cancel classes for a seventh day today. Talks are slated to resume this morning. The district says it has made a new offer to the Kelso Education Association. Teachers have voted to stay on strike in defiance of a court order telling them to go back to school.
