Runs for three TDs; has an interception
Mapleton football standout Tyler Packebush is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The Junior linebacker and running back carried the ball seven times for 118 yards and three touchdowns; had one interception; and sacked the opposing quarterback once in the Sailors’ 68-24 win over the Alsea Wolverines.
Honorable Mention: Viking cross country runner Murray Bingham. The freshman harrier had a time of 17:28.8 to lead the team at the George Fox XC Classic in Brooks.

It’s senior night at Siuslaw High School as the Vikings host the Douglas Trojans for the final home match of the Far West volleyball season. Play is set for six. Marshfield is at South Umpqua; North Bend is at Brookings-Harbor.
