CHENEY, Wash. (AP) – The college basketball game between Seattle and Eastern Washington scheduled for Tuesday evening has been postponed because of a fierce wind storm in the Spokane region. Eastern Washington University said the game will be played in Cheney on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks have released wide receiver Chris Matthews and signed wide receiver Kevin Smith from the practice squad. Matthews made an impression in the Super Bowl with four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown and was in line to be the game MVP. But Matthews never got involved in Seattle’s offense this season. He had just four catches and was rarely used in offensive sets.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Portland forward Meyers Leonard missed his third straight game after getting tangled up with Kawhi Leonard on Nov. 11 and injuring his left shoulder. The Blazers have scored less than 20 points in a quarter five times this season, but never twice in a game until Monday. Portland’s lowest output this season was 11 points in the fourth quarter of 120-103 loss to Detroit on Nov. 8.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State has inked a stellar recruiting class for its women’s basketball program, ranked No. 12 in the nation by one service. The class included 5-foot-9 Mikayla Pivec on Lynwood, Washington; 6-foot guard Kat Tudor of Stockton, California; 6-foot-2 forward Janessa Thropay of Chino, California; 6-foot-1 wing Madison Washington of Las Vegas, Nevada.
