On the college gridiron Saturday, Vernon Adams Jr. threw for 407 yards and six touchdowns as Number 23 Oregon defeated Number 22 USC 48-28. It was the Ducks fifth straight victory and the third game since coming back that Adams has thrown for 300 or more yards and at least four scores.
Washington’s Jake Browning threw four touchdown passes as the Huskies scored on their first six possessions on the way to 52-7 win over Oregon State. The 2 and 9 Beavers lost their eighth consecutive game.
Turning to the hardwood…. Chris Boucher scored 17 points and Elgin Cook had 12 points and eight rebounds, leading Number 25 Oregon to a 77-59 victory over Savannah State on Friday night.
Saturday afternoon Oregon State put away UC Santa Barbara 71 – 59. Gary Payton II scored 21 points on the night to lead scoring.
And Dillon Brooks had 26 points and 13 rebounds Sunday as Oregon beat Valparaiso 73-67.
